Prayer-Marriages/The Armor of God
May I pray the armor over this family as a whole?
May the helmet of salvation guard our minds that we can resist destructive thoughts and be open to new concepts and truths. I pray this helmet not only guard against all that is trying to consume our thoughts but that it also cushion and dissipate the possible damage.
The breastplate of righteousness will guard our hears from taking blows from the enemy. I pray that over this family and our relationships. We long to be godly parents, exampling You to them even when it seems it must be tough love. We need our hearts guarded so that they be allowed to soften and love as you would have us love. Hard hearts are taking over and not allowing You to work in them. We are putting ourselves above anyone else, especially our spouses. I approach things from the view of 'what would I like, want, need, appreciate' instead of seeing it from the other person point of view. And it usually seems so justified. We get confused and assume that just because they are wrong that makes us right and that is not the case. YOU are right.
Gird our loins with the truth. May the truth be revealed because You are the truth. While pain may come with some revelation, ultimately through truth comes real healing. Nothing kept in dark can be sterilized and healed. Light is required for renewing, cleansing, and growth. Are we brave enough? No.
Do we have enough faith? Probably not.
But You are faithful and just. You are our peace and our great healer. you are also our only true hope. Will we trust You in that?
I pray our feet be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. That whether we are to stay or to go we do it in YOU and YOUR way.
Lord, there are so many marriages struggling right now. Satan is going about seeking whom he may devour but in the name of YOUR son, Jesus, satan has no power over us. May our men rise up to be the godly men You created them to be. May they imitate You in all they do. Thoughts, actions, intentions, desires. May it all line up exactly as You would have.
I rebuke satan.
I bind his influence.
I rebuke fear and pray peace in its place.
I rebuke selfishness and pray grace in its place.
I rebuke ignorance and pray Your wisdom in its place.
I rebuke pride and pray humble spirits in its place.
I rebuke the spirit of narrow-mindedness and pray the mind of Christ over this family instead.
May we each have vision to look beyond a specific circumstance into the fullness of Your view.
